Solo Travel + Passport Gave Me Power

Marci Foster Presents: “Passport to My Power”A Solo Travel Story by Marci Foster

There’s something magical about walking through an airport alone, holding a passport with no one to answer to but yourself. That’s how it started for me—one bag, one cell phone, and a dream to see the world on my own terms.

I landed in Zanzibar, Tanzania, with no tour guide, no agenda, and no fear. I wandered narrow stone alleys in Stone Town, danced barefoot on beaches where the sunsets were painted in fire, and shared laughter with locals over fresh seafood and peeped out the people playing on the beach. Every solo step turned into a story worth telling.

Traveling alone didn’t mean being alone. It meant being open. I went on a spice tour. I had so much fun —all because I dared to show up solo.

There’s a freedom that only solo travel gives you: the freedom to say yes to detours, to quiet mornings, to loud nights, to soul-deep transformation. I found pieces of myself in every passport stamp. I didn’t just see the world—I felt it.

Solo travel makes you bold. It makes you listen. It teaches you how strong you already are. Every time I touched down in a new country, I wasn’t escaping—I was becoming.

If you’ve ever felt the pull to just GO, don’t wait. Don’t look for company. You are the company. And somewhere across the ocean, a version of you is already dancing in the sunrise, waiting to be found.
